Take Megalodon’s tooth taken from West Java in Indonesia. Around 20 million years ago the vast areas of land that are now in our view were warm marine environments. Megalodon sharks were found in those prehistoric waters alongside countless other forms of marine life.

Megalodon Like sharks of in the present, constantly produces teeth and then loses them. Some of the teeth eventually found their way into marine sediments. Under the right conditions burial, they could be protected enough to allow them to fossilize.
